Our study was carried on 226 soldiers from the Gendarme Commander skip of Beşiktaş and on 44 AIDS patients in the Infection Clinics of Istanbul Medical Facult and Haseki Research Hospital.

We were not able to detect S.stercoralis in stool samples investigated by culture and Baermann techniques. However 6.19% of the samples obtained from the soldiers had other helminthes and protozoa detected by formalin-ether sedimentation concentration method. Also 11.3% of AIDS patients had potential pathogen and pathogen parasites in their samples examined by using formalin-ether sedimentation concentration method and modified acid staining method for the detection of protozoa.
