In this study, we investigated the capsular serotypes, siderophore, extended spectrum betalactamase (ESBL) activity and serum resistance properties of Klebsiella strains (20 Klebsiella pneumoniae, 6 Klebsiella oxytoca) isolated from patients with urinary tract infection. Of the 26 isolates, 25 could be serotyped and serotype K69 was the most common. All Klebsiella strains expressed siderophore. %54 and 8% of the isolates expess enterobactin and aerobactin, respectively. ESBL activity was detected in two of the strains. The majority of the strains were highly serum resistant.
