Vulvovaginal candidasis is observed very often in the patients admitted to the Gynecology and Obstetri out-patient clinic. In this study, vaginal discharge specimens of 801 women with vulvovaginitis applying to Gynecology and Obstetri outpatient clinic between January 1995-June 1999 were mycologically investigated. Isolated yeasts were identified by using morphological growth features in Tween 80 agar and biochemical differentiation. Yeasts were isolated in 266 (33.2%) of all specimens and growth rate was found to be statistically lower in premenarch period. The distibution of isolated yeasts were as follows Candida albicans, Candida glabrata and Candida tropicalis (%61.7, %22.9, %4.5 respectively).
