Recently, the possible effects of extremely low frequency electromagnetic fields (EMF) on the public health have become an interesting subject. Generally, electromagnetic fields occur around the high voltage lines and also electromagnetics come into being because of some electrical machines such as fun and TV used routinely at our home and offices. In thesis study, the effects of 50 Hz frequency 30 μT EMF on the reproduction behaviours and the protein synthesis of Escherichia coli and Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells. EMF was generated with Helmholtz coil and EMF level (50 Hz, 30 μT) was especially selected in a range to which human can being exposed in their daily lifes. According to the results of the study, EMF decreased the total protein amount of the bacteria and yeast cells and also reduced the reproduction speed.
