Keywords: Legionella pneumophila, serogroup

Legionella pneumophila is the most frequently isolated species from legionellosis. There are 15 serogroups of L.pneumophila. L.pneumophila serogroup 1 was most frequently isolated serogroup from the clinical cases. L.pneumophila serogroups 2-14 may rarely lead to legionellosis. The aim of this study was to investigate the L.pneumophila serogroups 2-14 in touristic region where the incidence of legionellosis is to be high. Totally, 23 L.pneumophila serogroups 2-14 were isolated, of those SG-3, SG-6, SG-8, SG-10, SG-11 and SG-13 was %30.4, %26.1, %7.7, %4.3, %4.3, and %7.7, respectively. Legionella culture could not be performed by routine clinical laboratories. Instead, urinary antigen detection tests are preffered. Urinary antigen test is not reliable to detect L.pneumophila serogourps other than 1.
