A 49 year-old female patient diagnosed as Hodgkin's
Lymphomanearly a year ago was referred from Dermatology
Department to the Medical Parasitology Laboratory for
unhealing acne lesions on her face. It was learnt that her
complaint occurred six months after the start of
chemotherapy for Hodgkin's lymphoma. Her dermatological
examination revealed erythematous papules and pustules
on her cheeks and forehead. In order to examine for
Demodex spp., samples from facial localization were
collected by standardized skin surface biopsy known as a
non-invasive method and cellophane band methods and
examined under light microscopy. Presence of six Demodex
folliculorum per cm2 was detected in the lesion sites and
was reported. According to the clinical and parasitological
findings the patient was diagnosed as acne rosacea.
