Objective: The aim of our study is to determine and evaluate all factors that may affect the health and safety of the employees, considering the dangers arising from the working conditions in the workplaces, the materials, machinery and installations used, human and organizational errors, and to prepare a guide for controlling the risks.

Methods: Within the scope of the research, in addition to the internet web-based data, the statements of a total of six authorized individuals (two employees from each unit) working in the specified units were used. The team carrying out the risk assessment study, employers, occupational safety specialists who carry out health and safety services in the workplace, occupational physicians, laboratory managers, employees who are determined to represent all units in the study and who have information about the current or potential sources of the danger and risks.

Results: The risk of infection transmission and noise risk due to not paying attention to the use of personal protective equipment in the microbiology laboratory were found to be high risks. All risks in the sterilization unit were determined as medium risks. The risk of giving the wrong blood product to the patient in the blood transfusion center was found to be a high risk.

Conclusion: Attention should be paid to the use of personal protective equipments, barcoding of patient samples should be considered, and devices should be maintained on time. High-risk situations should be reduced to medium, and employees should be trained on the risk assessment procedures.
