Cryptococcus neoformans is an encapsulated, opportunistic yeast species that can infect humans through
inhalation and shows a preference for the central nervous system. This report presents a case of C. neoformans
meningitis in an HIV-negative patient exhibiting various neurological symptoms, who also tested positive for
autoimmune markers and was undergoing high-dose steroid therapy. In clinical cases due to C. neoformans is
the causative agent, mortality rates are elevated when diagnosis is delayed.
