Objective: Health care workers [HCWs] present role models for communities for attitudes towards COVID-19 vaccination. Hence, attitudes of HCWs towards vaccination can crucially affect the efforts aiming to contain the pandemic. The aim of this study is to determine the attitudes of Tarsus State Hospital healthcare workers to COVID 19 vaccines after vaccination.

Methods: The population of this descriptive study consisted of voluntary individuals over 18 years old who were working in Tarsus State Hospital. Using the snowball sampling method between 12-16.07.2021, 266 healthcare workers were included in this cross-sectional study based on an online questionnaire.

Results: It was determined that 170 HCWs (63.9%) were female and 119 (44.8%) were in the 40-49 age group. According to the results of the assessment; 167 HCWs (62.8%) were doctors/nurses, 182 (86.4%) did not have a chronic disease, and 30.5% of those with chronic diseases had hypertension. A total of 186 HCWs (69.9%) did not catch COVID-19 and 254 (95.5%) were vaccinated against COVID-19, with 170 (63.9%) preferred Biontech® vaccine. It was determined that 91 (34%) of them had regularly been vaccinated for influenza yearly. It was also determined that the positive attitude scores of the doctors/nurses towards the COVID-19 vaccine were significant and higher than the other health personnel.

Conclusion: Outcomes of this stydy indicates that a multifaceted intervention consisting of a supportive, informative approach is critically important for promoting COVID-19 vaccination among healthcare professionals.
