The efficacy of various disinfectants against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter baumannii strains

The aim of this study was to determine the susceptibilities of multidrug resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter baumannii strains isolated from different clinics in our hospital to various disinfectants. The efficacy of cocospropylenediaminguaninacetat + didecyloxethylmetilamonyum propianat, gluteraldehit+metanal, gluteraldehit, glyxol+dimethylbenzylcocusphatalkyl ammonium chloride, cocospropylendiaminguanidindiacetat+dimethylbenzilcocosphatalcyl amoniumchlorid, benzalkoniumchlorid+didecyldimethylamonniumchlorid were investigated. Group I comprises 10 P. aeruginosa and 10 A. baumannii strains isolated from ICU while the rest of bacteria were involved in group II. All of the tested strains were sensitive to antiseptics applied for 15 minutes and no difference was obtained on efficacy between two groups compared.
