Myroides is a type of bacteria that was previously classified as Flavobacterium odoratum. It is aerobic,
immobile, yellow-pigmented, oxidase positive and gram-negative rod with a characteristic fruity smell. They
are commonly found in environmental resources such as water and soil. Although Myroides is considered a
low-level pathogen, it can cause life-threatening meningitis, pneumonia, urinary tract and soft tissue infections
in immunocompromised patients. They are difficult to treat because of the resistance to many antibiotics. They
can cause hospital infections and deaths. Myroides spp. has drawn attention with the increasing number of
cases reported. This study presents a 46-year-old female patient with no underlying diseases and Myroides
odoratimimus growth in urine culture.
