In this study we investigated the presence of new cases by screening in a region after three patients living in the same region diagnosed as brucellosis. The presence of brucella antibodies was searched by Rose Bengal test (RBT) and standart tobe agglutination test (STA) from the blood of 67 individuals among the people over 15 years of age living in that region. Of the investigated 67 participants, RBT was positive in 10 (15%) cases, and STA test was positive (≥1/160) in 8 (12%) individuals. According to our results, many new cases may be detected by serologic screening in risky regions made after the diagnosis of brusellosis in individuals living in that region.
