Caves as an part of folkloric properties such as health, shelter, rituel behaviours and stockbreeding are highly touristic area
at the present day. Denizli region has recently opened touristic caves. Caves include different fungal organism due to climatic
and geological variations. In this study, the presence of kerotinophilic fungi, Cryptococcus neoformans and Histoplasma
capsulatum in Denizli Keloğlan cave have been investigated. 17 cave soil samples have been screened by standard methods.
While keratinophilic fungi (4 Chrysosporium spp, 2 Chrysosporium keratinophilum), one nonsporulated fungi and one
Microsporum canis have been isolated, C.neoformans and H.capsulatum have not been cultured. For our recently opened touristic
caves, screening of their fungal pathogens is important for preventive medicine.
