Helicobacter pylori antigens were investigated in the stool samples of 50 patients who have submitted to Istanbul University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology. Premium Platinum HpSA ELISA (Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay) and Simple H.pyl immuncart tests were carried out to all the samples. 18 of 50 patients were found to be H.pylori positive by ELISA, but 23 of 32 seronegative patients were found positive by immunocart. In this study, we concluded that in comparison with ELISA as a gold standard, the sensitivity, specificity, pozitive and negative predictive values of the rapid H.pyl test were 100%, 28%, 43% and 100% respectively.
